IBM Robotic Process Automation for Suppliers Bills Passing
Supplier send the file with attached on specified email.
IBM Robotic Process Automation reads the supplier attached file from email with OCR and take out supplier code, PO number, and matches with SAP master data.
Based on above matching system pass the invoice in case of there is a mismatch then admin receive the exception email
- Suppliers send the email with attached invoice on special email ID created for this purpose only
- IBM Robotic Process Automation reads the email attachment with OCR capability and convert that data into our required template
- if above data e.g. vendor code, PO number, material code, quantity calculation matches with our specified rules, IBM Robotic Process Automation does the SAP bill passing (MIRO)
- if there is a mismatch then admin receive the exception email with vendor,PO number etc
- Speed of invoice reading through OCR can be improved
- More machine learning can be used in case of exceptional cases
- Cost factor can be improved
if data is less and format are not standardized, IBM Robotic Process Automation faces cost / OCR reading issues.

- I was challenged to implement IVR functionality with IBM RPA.
High potential in the near future
- Machine Learning Integration
- Scripting Function
- Easy sharing of scripts
- Training possibilities
- Bugs because it is still quite new
- It is a low code tool. We just built our first bot within 2 weeks with learning from scratch.
- It has chatbot, IVR, scheduling capability. RPA script can be called as a http call.
- It can easily automate UI manual work and has [a] record option which automatically generates the required codes.
- It can easily integrate with REST, SOAP service, DB, mail server.
- Can read CSV, files and also easily write in files, CSV.
- It has error handling capability, but I feel that can be improved.
